Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Thunder and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 1652hrs Command and Control Helicopter 1-20 Infantry at BS715382 received approximately 12 rounds, automatic weapons sniper fire. Results took 1 hit in tail section, set down at LZ Liz to check chopper, negative casualties.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. At 1945hrs LZ Bronco received 4 rounds 81-82mm mortar rounds. Engaged suspect mortar position at BS785365, BS789391and muzzle flashes at BS775402 with Artillery. Mortars ceased fire, negative assessment. Scrambled flare and gun ships following incoming fire, Negative results with negative casualties or damage. 3 rounds impacted on air strip vicinity BS810380.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz at 0930hrs Alpha Company 87 is at BS817443, 60 with Command Post at LZ Liz, 72 at BS727377, 67 at BS715383, 70 at BS712376 and 71 at BS710370. At 1010hrs Alpha Company at 719376 found a new hootch large enough for 5 people will check out area. At 1145hrs Alpha Company at BS809468 found a family type bunker, 2 chi com hand grenade, 1 US type 45cal holster, 1 US compass, 1 US canteen cover, will check out area further. At 1353hrs 1-20 Infantry reports A 87 at BS805468, A 90 at BS805465, A 91 at BS813464 and A 92 at 809469 with A 60 at LZ Liz. At 1500hrs Alpha Company engaged 2 VC evading results 1 VC KIA and 1 VC WIA, evaded found 1 pistol belt, 3 canteens, 1 M-26 Hand grenade and misc. food stuffs. The KIA was 30, dressed in black and location was BS715382. At 1340hrs Alpha Company at BS719384 engaged 1 VC results 1 VC KIA. At 1900hrs Alpha Company 87 Night Defense Position is at BS819469, 60 is at LZ Liz, Alpha Company 67 Night Defense Position is at BS719375, with 69 at BS721375, 70 at BS715378, and 71 at BS707381.
Bravo Company

At 0930hrs Bravo Company 87, Command Post is at LZ Dragon, 68 at BS730563 and 67 is now at LZ Dragon. At 1353hrs Bravo Company reports their locations B 87 at BS744566, B 60 at BS744554 with B 67 at LZ Dragon. At 1420hrs General Cooksey visited LZ Dragon from 1420hrs to 1435hrs. At 1900hrs Bravo Company reports their locations B 88 at BS741568, B 89 at BS745569 with Bravo 60 and 67 at LZ Dragon.
Charlie Company

Charlie Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Thunder and at 0930hrs 71 at BS861318 and at 1215hrs 87 at LZ Thunder, 60 at Charlie Brown, 71 at BS874333, 63 at bridge 94 and 92 at Bridge 111. At 1900hrs Charlie Company 87 and 67 is located at LZ Thunder, with 60 at LZ Charlie Brown, C63 at bridge 94 and C 92 at bridge 111.
Delta Company

At 0735hrs Delta Company at BS828248 spotted 5 VC, one ad M-79 and the other a rifle engaged results 1 VC KIA pursuing other at this time. At 0850hrs Delta Company at BS825259 engaged 4 VC evading Results 1 VC KIA dressed in black PJ approximately 18 years old, 1 canteen, 1 poncho, and no weapon. At 0930hrs Delta Company locations 87 is at BS825261, BS60828262, 67 at BS822262, Command Post at BS827257. At 1138hrs Delta Company at BS827253 found 2 Vietnamese hats in a small overnight sleeping area, will search the area. At 1900hrs Delta Company reports locations 89 at BS832272, 90 at BS835280, 91 at BS844240, and 60, 67 and Command Post at BS835277.
Echo Company

Echo Company is located at LZ Thunder where Battalion Forward is and coordinates with the Battalion Rear Elements and Base Defense elements on LZ Thunder. The 4.2 Platoon is located on LZ Thunder where they continue to provide direct fire support for the (1-20 Infantry Battalion). At 0930hrs Recon Platoon reports their location at BS876262. At 1900hrs Recon Platoon reports their Night Location at BS866253.
